A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.
Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.
Be prepared.
River levels are high on the River Rother this morning, 5 January 2024, due to heavy rainfall yesterday and overnight. Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane, and along the River Rother in Robertsbridge. No property flooding is expected. No further rainfall is forecast and river levels are expected to fall throughout the day. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. This message will be updated by 8pm on Friday 5 January 2024, or as the situation changes.
