What is What3words?
What3words is a geocoding system, it divides the world into 3m x 3m squares and assigns each square with a unique combination of three words. This means that every location on the planet can be precisely identified using just three words.
How does it work?
Traditional addressing systems can be imprecise, leading to delays in locating critical equipment during emergencies. What3words provides pinpoint accuracy, reducing response times and potentially saving lives. Sharing a three-word address is much easier than reciting complex latitude and longitude coordinates. This simplicity ensures that anyone, even those without technical knowledge, can relay accurate location information.
We have pinpointed the locations some of our village amenities, in particular, the Public Access Defibrilators located in the village, other items will be gradually added to the list, this will be particularly useful to visitors and newcomers to the village.
