Sandbags

If we get flooding and you live in a property that is at risk of flooding and you require sandbags the Parish Council has sand and bags available for those who need them.

Contact Councillor Simon (Sid) Barrow to get sandbags, if you are unable to contact him you can contact any Councillor or the Clerk, all contact details are on the Council Members page of the website

Flood Alert

Flood Alert update issued Friday 20th December. 4.14am;

River levels are forecast to rise again as a result of heavy rainfall expected overnight last night 19/12/19, and into the early hours of today Friday 20/12/19. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible this morning 20/12/19 along the River Rother particularly at Crowhurst Bridge and around Shrub Lane. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point but there is further rainfall forecast during the coming days and we will issue any warning messages if the situation worsens. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and our partners and clearing trash screens. Please plan driving routes accordingly and avoid footpaths near watercourses. Welcome

Welcome to the new website for Etchingham Parish Council, the previous village website will continue to be funded by the Parish Council for all village information and activities, but all Parish Council content has now moved to this new site.

January Parish Council meeting

The January Parish Council will be held in the Parker Hall, Parsonage Croft on Thursday January 16th, 7.30pm.

All residents are invited to attend but are reminded that Parish Council meetings are meetings held in public, but NOT public meetings, members of the public are able to ask questions or comment on agenda items during a short period of ‘public time’ when the formal meeting is temporarily suspended.
