Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.

Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

River levels have risen on the River Rother due to heavy rainfall throughout last night. Areas most at risk of flooding include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane.

Flooding of low lying land and roads along the River Rother is also possible, particularly around Robertsbridge from 08:00 AM on 02/01/2024. Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout today with further showers forecast later this week. River levels are expected to remain high and the risk of flooding to low-lying land remains.

We are clearing debris from weed screens in the area and are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
