Black Cat Radar

Black Cat Radar;

Some Parish Councils in the Rother District are purchasing Black Cat Radar devices to monitor traffic volume and speeds over several days at a time, 24 hours a day.
The data collected can then be used to assist in deploying Community Speedwatch operators to locations and times that are revealed to be the worst times for speeding vehicles.
The data can also be used as evidence when requesting traffic calming and road safety measures, and as evidence for requests for Police speed checks in specific locations.

At the July 2021 Parish Council meeting it was resolved to investigate how the device is deployed and the data collected, and what the purchase and running costs would be.
A Councillor was asked to investigate and report their findings to a future Parish Council meeting.
