Flood Alert November 4th

Flood Alert issued;

As you might expect, we have received a flood alert for the Etchingham area, it is only expected to affect low lying fields and roads, so be careful if you are out walking in low lying areas near to the rivers,

This is an update from the Environment Agency. Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal. Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.    River levels continued to fall overnight following Storm Ciarán but are expected to rise again at Crowhurst and Etchingham this morning and throughout today, Saturday 04/11/23, in response to further rainfall. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads along the River Rother, particularly between Robertsbridge and Rye. Rain is forecast throughout the day, clearing overnight. Sunday is expected to be dry. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated on Saturday evening, 04/11/23, or as the situation changes.
