FLOOD WARNING, 17th November

Flood Alert updated to FLOOD WARNING.

Overnight the Environment Agency updated the Flood Alert for the area to a FLOOD WARNING, there is a risk of some possible flooding of property, an update is expected at approx. 11am today.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

A Flood Warning has been issued by the Environment Agency.  Flood Warning in force: River Rother at Etchingham.

Flooding is expected for: Etchingham, including areas along the railway east and south of the village.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of low lying property, roads and low lying land is expected imminently overnight tonight, Thursday 17 November 2022. We expect flooding to affect areas around Etchingham. River levels will remain high throughout the morning of Thursday 17 November. We  are continuing to monitor the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from the rivers. Further light rainfall is forecast tomorrow, but is not likely to cause further flooding impacts. This message will be updated by 11am on 17 November 2022, or as the situation changes.
