Flood Alert issued.

We have had the snow and ice, so now we can treat you to the delights of the latest Flood Alert issued this morning, flooding of property is not expected at this time.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.

Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Flooding of roads and low-lying land is expected between 6am this morning until Tuesday evening, 20 December 2022. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads close to the rivers, particularly on and around the Crowhurst Bridge area and Shrub Lane and also around Robertsbridge. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.

Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours, and we expect river levels to remain high until Wednesday, 21 December 2022. We are closely monitoring the situation.

Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and our partners, and actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required.
