Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

Be prepared.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall during Thursday 3 December.  Flooding of roads and low lying land is a possibility at any location near the river around Etchingham, Robertsbridge and Bodiam,  and minor flooding is expected between 11:00 pm on Thursday 3 December and Friday evening. Peak levels will be similar to the flooding on 16 November 2020. The internal flooding of properties is not expected at this point.  We currently expect river levels to stabilise on Friday but may rise again over the weekend with more wet weather due on Saturday.   We are closely monitoring the situation.  Our incident response staff are clearing trash screens and checking on river structures.  Please take care near the river and on flooded roads.  This message will be updated by 08:00 am on Friday, or as the situation changes.
