Flood Alert issued

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

River levels are high on the River Rother this evening, 8th February 2024, due to heavy rainfall today and this evening. Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane. No property flooding is expected.

Further rainfall is forecast tomorrow but will be lighter. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required.
