Flood Alert issued.

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency at 11.10 on Tursday 28th January, it will mainly affect low lying roads and fields and flooding of property is not expected.

Any updates received will be published on the Parish Council website and Facebook page.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.            Be prepared.

Following heavy overnight rainfall on wet catchments, river levels have risen on the River Rother. It is anticipated that levels will continue to rise through today, 28 January 2021. Property flooding is not expected, but low lying land and roads may be inundated through the day of 28 January 2021.

We are monitoring the situation and have teams patrolling the catchment. The forecast for tonight is for further light rainfall, with unsettled weather set to continue for several days to come.

Members of the public should avoid flood water and stay aware, as further information may be forthcoming.
