Flood Alert issued

The Environment Agency issued a Flood Alert for our area, at 5pm today (25th December), currently only expected to affect low lying roads and fields, but please be aware if you have animals in those locations, or planning to walk the footpaths over the next couple of days.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.

Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

River levels are forecast to rise again tonight as a result of rainfall starting in the early hours of Boxing Day morning. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected from 6:00am tomorrow, 26/12/21, and throughout Boxing Day in the Etchingham, Robertsbridge and Newenden areas.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have checked our defences and structures throughout the Rother valley.
